Tarrytown Jewelers was created in 1972 by Steve and Marlene Dubinsky as a small firm dealing in rare coins, jewelry, and precious metals. Steve and Marlene both took courses at the Gemological Institute of America and began trading diamonds and colored stones.
In 1978 Tarrytown Jewelers took a dramatic step forward and became one of the first companies in the United States to specialize in the acquisition and sales of fine pre-owned wristwatches.
