Gents Rolex GMT-Master “Chuck Yeager” in stainless steel Ref# 16700 limited #9/50. On the original stainless steel Oyster bracelet with a flip-lock deployant buckle. Rotating stainless steel bezel with a black aluminum insert and a sapphire crystal. The case diameter is 40 mm. Self-winding movement with quick-set date and 24-hour hand. Box, booklets, wallet, cloth, and hangtags. Watch is circa 1997. Very Good condition.
Chuck Yeager was one of the greatest pilots that ever lived. He was the first to break the sound barrier. To celebrate his achievements The Real McCoy’s, a Japanese clothing brand, created a limited edition of 50 modified 16700, adding his name in red text over the words GMT-Master. Engraved on the caseback “General Chuck E. Yeager” and an image of the Bell X-1 with the date October 14, 1947. The X1 was the first aircraft he piloted to break through the sound barrier. The watches were produced in the late 1990s.
