Description
Gents Tiffany & Co. Split Seconds pocket watch in 18k yellow gold. With a smooth bezel and an acrylic crystal. The case diameter is 53 mm. Manual-wind movement with sub-seconds and split-second stop watch. The crown will start, stop, and return the stopwatch hands. The side button will start the split by stopping one counter hand and letting the other continue counting. When the crown is then pressed the secondary hand will stop. Next pressing the side button will return the two hands back to one position and by pressing the crown one last time both hands return back to zero. There is a slide lock for the side button. White dial with painted black Roman numerals and painted red Arabic numerals for the counters. The dial remains in exceptional shape. The caseback is intricately engraved with the initials WLJ. Inside the caseback an engraved message reads, “Presented to Wash. L. Jaques, by members of the Hotel Mens Mutual Benefit Association and his freinds New York May 15th 1891.” The movement reads Tiffany & Co. New York No. 80833, which matches the number stamped on both lids. The movement is clean and fully operational. This pocket watch is circa late 1800’s. Very Good condition.
